The midfielder has settled into Wycombe well since his move last month and has impressed in the two friendlies so far.
Now the 25-year-old admits he cannot wait to go head-to-head with top-flight outfits Fulham (Saturday 28th July) and QPR (Tuesday 31st July).
"They're Premier League sides and it's going to be tough," Wood told Chairboys Player. "But it's good to be playing against those players and trying to prove yourself.
"The games are going to be good workouts. We like to play football and they will all want to play football so they will be good games."
Wood put in an all-action display against Forest Green on Wednesday and got a valuable 90 minutes under his belt to add the 45 he played at Farnborough.
He said: "It was good to get 90 minutes. I wasn't expecting it, but I enjoyed it and it’s good to get minutes in the tank in pre-season.
"We're still a little bit rusty and I only played 45 the other day, but we're still building and pre-season is all about getting fitness and working on certain things.
"We've only been able to work on certain things since we've been back and we kept a clean sheet. We've been working on our defending and when we get on to the attacking we will score a few more goals."
