The winger provided the assist for Paris Cowan-Hall's winner at Victoria Road after both sides had been reduced to 10 men, and Sam had plenty of praise for his team mates to grind out the win.
He said: "It showed the character of the team, when they go down to 10 men it is sometimes harder especially away from home.
"It is always a tough place to go and we managed to hold out and get the three points that we needed.
"It was nice to get the assist, I have not had many this season and hopefully there's more to come."
Exeter have been known for their passing play under Paul Tisdale, and it is something that Woody is aware of heading in to the game.
He said: "It is going to be tough. We've obviously seen them on TV in the FA Cup against Liverpool and they're a great side. But after our result the other night hopefully we can build on it and get the three points that we need.
"They like to pop it around and they're good at it. It's going to be an interesting game, especially after last year when we played 90 plus 12 minutes.
"It's going to be a great game. I'm looking forward to it and so are the boys."
