Gareth Ainsworth made four changes to the side that started at Port Vale, including recalling himself.
Anthony Stewart, Dave Winfield and Matt McClure were also involved with former Holland international Edgar Davids captaining the Bees
Wanderers started brightly and Ainsworth headed over in the second minute after Dean Morgan had cleverly turned his man inside the area and floated a cross to the far post. Joel Grant then drilled left-footed from inside the area, but Graham Stack made a comfortable stop.
Both sides struggled to exert any authority on the first half after that and Davids’ 22nd-minute effort that was blocked by Stewart was the next strike on goal.
The lively Morgan had to be replaced after 38 minutes and on in his place was Sam Wood, who returned after two months on the sidelines.
Two minutes later, McClure and Ainsworth both battled well in the right corner to force a mistake from a Barnet defender, but the latter’s cut-back was blocked and fell kindly for Stack.
Bull was called into the action for the first time in the 62nd minute and he produced a fine save high to his left to parry away Oster’s stunning 30-yard strike.
The game threatened to spark into life and McClure fired wide from 20 yards after latching on to Josh Scowen’s pass and flicking the ball past his marker. Grant then volleyed wide after Gary Doherty had down well to head back across goal.
Junior Morias almost made an immediate impact after coming on for Ainsworth in the 71st minute as he turned his man before crashing a left-footed strike just wide of Stack’s right-hand post. It was a great effort from the youngster, who showed strength to hold off his man and skill to beat him.
Morias’ introduction seemed to lift the crowd and the Blues enjoyed their best spell with Grant seeing a long-ranger deflected over the bar by Clovis Kamdjo.
Anthony Yiadom headed a deep corner wide with 12 minutes remaining after a rare second-half Barnet attack, before Morias blazed high over the bar from the edge of the area.
Substitute Richard Logan came close to winning it for the Chairboys with seven minutes left on the clock after Stack had failed to deal with a cross, but the striker’s shot deflected wide off Wood.
Wycombe were looking the likelier to break the deadlock and Dave Winfield headed Scowen’s free-kick wide, before Grant was just unable to cut the ball back from another Scowen set-piece when well placed.
Davids threatened an injury-time winner before he was crowded out and the Wanderers almost went up the other and snatched the points, but Wood’s 20-yard shot was parried away by Stack.
