Paris Cowan-Hall looks set to miss the rest of the season after requiring an operation on an ankle injury sustained in training.
The attacker has impressed in his five appearances for the club since rejoining on loan from Millwall in January, scoring the winner in the 2-1 victory at Dagenham & Redbridge.
However, he sustained an ankle injury in training ahead of the game against Northampton Town and the results of the scan revealed ligament damage which will keep him sidelined until the summer.
Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: “It’s a massive blow for us because Paris was recapturing his best form in a Wycombe shirt, but it’s also a terrible setback for a young man who was enjoying his football again.
“We have a small squad even when we’re at full strength so for us to lose a player of his calibre for the rest of the season is a real shame.
“However, these situations do provide opportunities for other players to step up and prove their worth and now it’s up to other members of the squad to grab this chance and stake a claim for a place in the team.”
