Striker Matt McClure is “pretty close” to a return against Bradford City on Tuesday night, but defender Dave Winfield remains a doubt.

McClure limped off after 20 minutes of last Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Rotherham with a foot injury, while Winfield was replaced 16 minutes from time.

Ainsworth told Chairboys Player: “Matty had a fair chance of playing on Saturday anyway, but Dave is still a doubt and we’ll assess him again.

“We’ve got plenty in the squad – Gary Doherty is back now as are others so we can cover and shuffle if we need to.

“The lads have proved they are versatile and are willing to do whatever is needed for me.

“We’ll check on those two but Matty McClure is pretty close now and Dave is the one we’ll have to look at closely. It would be great to take a full squad up to Bradford but that’s not often the case in football.”
