Kuffour, a free agent after leaving Gillingham in May, will play in a friendly with Luton Town today (Tuesday) and could make his debut at Southend United on Saturday.
Waddock told wwfc.com: “He’s a good player who is experienced at this level and the one above.
“We’ve been monitoring him for a while and we’re looking forward to welcoming him into the group.”
The frontman will be well-known to Wanderers fans after scoring a hat-trick for Bristol Rovers in their 6-3 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win at Adams Park in November 2010.
Having started his career at Arsenal, Kuffour scored 10 times to help Torquay United achieve promotion to League 1 in 2003/04.
Two 12-goal spells at Brentford and AFC Bournemouth in 2006/07 and 2007/08 respectively followed before the 30-year-old joined Bristol Rovers.
He was the club’s top scorer with 14 goals in his second season, but a change of manager at the Memorial Stadium saw Kuffour move to Gillingham on loan at the start of the 2011/12 campaign, which was made permanent six months later.
