Meet the men in the dugout...

Gareth Ainsworth
Manager

Following a distinguished playing career at all four levels of English football with Preston, Wimbledon and QPR, Ainsworth began his coaching career at Wycombe Wanderers in a player-coach role in 2011, having earned legendary status in his final years as a player.

The former QPR caretaker boss was handed the reins at Adams Park in September that year and steered the club away from relegation before hanging up his boots after his 600th career appearance against Port Vale.

Financial restraints contributed to a testing 2013/14 season but Ainsworth successfully kept the Wanderers in the Football League thanks to a final day victory, and followed it up with an outstanding campaign which culminated in a play-off final at Wembley, having achieved the club’s best ever points tally in the Football League.

Ainsworth was named the LMA League 2 Manager of the Year for his efforts, and also won the Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month prize in April, before going on to lead his side to an FA Cup third round replay against Aston Villa and a mid-table finish in the 2015/16 campaign.

Richard Dobson
Assistant manager

Richard Dobson was appointed assistant manager of the club in June 2011, having previously held the position of head of youth at Adams Park.

He joined the club in 2007 as the head of the centre of excellence before replacing the departed Greg Heald as youth team coach later that year.

'Dobbo' was installed as head of youth in the summer of 2008 following a successful spell in charge of the under 18s, overseeing the progress of youngsters such as Matt Phillips, Jordon Ibe and Kadeem Harris who all later turned professional.

UEFA-A qualified coach Dobson was forced to retire from playing at the age of 25 after suffering knee damage whilst at Farnborough Town, but soon moved into coaching with Brentford's centre of excellence.

Barry Richardson
First-team coach

The former Northampton Town, Preston North End and Lincoln City stopper arrived at the club in January 2014 having made over 500 appearances as a player.

The UEFA A licence and UEFA A GK licence holder has a wealth of experience off the field after previously working as a goalkeeping coach at Doncaster Rovers, Nottingham Forest and Peterborough United.

Richardson's association with Gareth Ainsworth goes back to the 90s when the pair were team-mates at Preston and Lincoln.
