Matt Ingram will serve a one-match ban with immediate effect after the appeal against his red card on Saturday was rejected by the FA.

The goalkeeper was sent off against Morecambe for allegedly denying a goalscoring opportunity during an attempt to win the ball in a challenge with Shrimps player Aaron Wildig.

The club submitted evidence to the FA which showed that Ingram made contact with the ball before any contact with the player, but the decision was upheld and Ingram will now miss the FA Cup third round tie with Aston Villa on Saturday.
