Gareth's message to fans: We need you v Notts County!

Posted: Mon 20 Mar 2017

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth is looking forward to the season run in as the Chairboys chase down a play-off spot.

Saturday's 2-0 victory at Hartlepool United saw Wanderers make it five unbeaten in the league, whilst also closing the gap to seventh spot to just three points.

With eight games remaining now until the end of season, Ainsworth says his team will be looking to step on the gas in the hunt for League One football.

"We've got a good chance now to put some points on the board." The manager said, speaking after the win at the weekend.

"I've told the boys before that (Saturday's victory over Hartlepool), there's been no pressure all season, but now it's time to turn the key a little bit and see what we can achieve."

Gareth's men take on Notts County at Adams Park on Saturday (3pm) with a number of special activities lined up, and to mark the occasion, each season ticket holder will be able to purchase up to four guest tickets at £5 per person in any area of the ground, helping to generate a bumper crowd and electric atmosphere.

The boss says that such support will be vital at the 'business end' of the season, and has left fans the following message:

"Get yourselves down here because we need you.

"If we want to give you something to cheer for right up until that last kick, then we are going to need you, starting from Notts County and for the foreseeable future.

"We have a squad now that we have built for purpose, with depth for these moments.

"We've got a good chance and I am excited to see what we can achieve this year."
