A brace from QPR loanee Michael Harriman maintained Wycombe's unbeaten start to League 2, scoring either side of a Carl Magnay goal for Hartlepool.

The Chairboys had a fair few chances early on as efforts for Harriman and Thompson went wide of the goal. However, Ainsworth's men's persistence eventually paid off when Harriman half-volleyed home from the edge of the box, into the near bottom corner inside 26 minutes.

Hartlepool levelled a few minutes before half-time, when a good move eventually led to a neat finish by Pools defender Carl Magnay that went beyond Blues goalkeeper Matt Ingram and into the far corner. It almost became two for the away side when a short back-pass by Sido Jombati allowed Jake Carroll to go through on goal, but he could only find the near post from a rather acute angle.

The hosts started the second half as they had started the first, and Harriman was on target for the second time with a well-executed left footed strike which curled around Hartlepool goalkeeper Adam Bartlett and into the far bottom corner of the net to put Wycombe back in front at 2-1.

Hartlepool's hope of finding a second equaliser almost vanished when the man who equalised for them got into a scrap with Blues substitute Ryan Sellers and was dismissed with a straight red card for a bad tackle.

The win means that Wycombe have 14 points from the opening six fixtures in League 2. Seven points from three home games and seven from three away games.
