Grant Basey converted an injury-time penalty as Wycombe secured a well-deserved 1-1 draw in a scrappy encounter at Stevenage.Wanderers:
Wanderers had the first chance in the second minute when Matt Bloomfield was fouled on the edge of the area and Stuart Beavon fired his free-kick inches over the bar.
Stevenage's Scott Laird saw a header superbly tipped away low to his right by Nikki Bull and Marvin McCoy was in the right place at the right time to head the rebound off the line.
The hosts started to control proceedings and should have taken the lead in the 20th minute when Darius Charles burst past Gary Doherty and cut back for Lawrie Wilson, who somehow mis-kicked from five yards.
Wilson came close six minutes later with a fine curling effort from 20 yards that had Bull scrambling across his goal.
Wanderers fought their way back into the contest and finished the half the stronger of the two sides.
Chris Hackett was denied by Chris Day low to his left following Anthony Stewart's inch-perfect cross-field ball and Ben Strevens could only fire the rebound into the side-netting from a tight angle as the visitors enjoyed their best spell of pressure.
Mark Roberts headed a corner over the bar seconds after the restart and Bull tipped Luke Freeman's 20-yard effort over the bar. Michael Bostwick then saw a half-volley comfortably saved as the hosts started the second half brightly.
Beavon came close to opening the scoring 10 minutes after the break when he was played through by Marvin McCoy's lofted pass, but Day saved with his legs. Beavon had another chance a minute later, but his left-footed strike from the edge of the area flew narrowly over.
Stuart Lewis had two efforts in quick succession that failed to trouble Day as the Blues enjoyed their best spell of the game
Bloomfield was just unable to connect with Grant Basey's free-kick, but Stevenage could have taken the lead 13 minutes from time when Wilson was played in on goal, however, Bull stayed big to make a crucial save.
The opening goal came five minutes from time when the Wycombe defence backed off Bostwick and he curled into the bottom corner from the edge of the area, giving Bull no chance.
Roberts headed against the bar late on, but Wanderers piled on the pressure and got their reward in injury-time when Eastmond burst into the area and was upended by Roberts.
Basey kept his cool to fire to Day's right and give the very loud 738 Wycombe fans a well-deserved equaliser to cheer about.
