Wanderers have lifted themselves off the foot of League One with a stunning 2-0 victory over Millwall at the New Den, ending a 14-match winless run and handing Gary Waddock his first three points since taking over as manager.

Second-half goals from Chris Westwood and Kevin Betsy capped a superb afternoon for the Blues in South London as they dominated proceedings against the promotion hopefuls, and kept their first clean sheet since April courtesy of a professional and disciplined performance throughout.

Westwood opened the scoring on 56 minutes, heading home an inch-perfect corner from Scott Davies for his first goal for the club, and Betsy secured the win with a composed finish when put through one-on-one with the keeper by the excellent Davies.

Waddock had made three changes from the side which lost 2-0 at Brighton in midweek, handing a debut to the outstanding Gareth Ainsworth after signing the midfielder on loan from QPR on Friday, whilst there were also starts for Jon-Paul Pittman and Lewis Hunt.
